Computer Controlled Carton Compression Testing Machine
TT-CPCT computer controlled carton compression testing machine for ISO 12048 and ASTM D642 box compression tests: test spaces from 80 cm to 150 cm, 0–5000 kg capacities, AC variable frequency or servo drive, switchable kg/lb/N force units, and computerized results recording.
Overview
The TT-CPCT computer controlled carton compression testing machine determines the compressive strength and stacking endurance of complete, filled transport packages. It performs the compression tests of ISO 12048 (which consolidates ISO 2872 and ISO 2874) and ASTM D642: the press applies a steadily increasing force between the platens until the package fails or a preset force, deformation or time is reached.
Key Features
Four testing capacities are available — 0–500 kg, 0–1000 kg, 0–2000 kg and 0–5000 kg — and each is customizable. The test space comes in 80 × 80 × 80 cm, 100 × 100 × 100 cm, 120 × 120 × 120 cm and 150 × 150 × 150 cm sizes, driven by an AC variable frequency motor or a servo motor.
Force units switch between kg, lb and N. The testing speed is 10 ± 3 mm/min as a fixed setting, with an adjustable range of 10–300 mm/min for other protocols. Leakage protection, overload automatic shutdown and stroke limit protection are built in, and the computerized console records results for every specimen.

Applications
Carton compression testing supports transport packaging design, stacking checks and incoming quality control. It complements our high precision edge crush tester for paper packaging and automatic bursting strength tester (ISO 2759) so a paper laboratory can evaluate board strength and finished box performance on one equipment set.
Three test modes are commonly used: crush-to-failure compressive strength, constant value tests at a preset force, and stacking tests that hold a load for a set time.
