ASTM D3884/D4060 Taber Abrasion Resistance Tester TT-6013

TT-6013 Taber Abrasion Tester is designed to evaluate the abrasion and wear resistance of plastics, coatings, rubber, textiles, leather, paper, flooring materials, and other surfaces. With adjustable rotation speed, digital revolution counting, H18 abrasion wheels, and selectable test loads, this abrasion testing equipment provides a practical solution for material research, product development, quality control, and laboratory testing.

Product Description

The TT-6013 Taber Abrasion Resistance Tester is designed to evaluate the abrasion and wear resistance of plastics, coatings, rubber, leather, textiles, paper, flooring materials, laminates, and other surfaces.
Using a rotary platform abrasion method, the tester applies controlled abrasion wheels and loads to a specimen while the rotation speed and number of revolutions can be adjusted. It is suitable for material research, product development, quality control, and laboratory testing, and can be used as part of a broader range of mechanical testing equipment.

Key Features

  • Adjustable rotation speed from 10 to 110 rpm
  • LCD counter with 0–999,999 revolution range
  • H18 plastic abrasion wheels included
  • Selectable test loads for different material requirements
  • Adjustable distance between specimen and suction tube
  • Compact design for laboratory use
  • Other abrasion wheels available according to test requirements

Applications

The TT-6013 is suitable for evaluating the surface wear resistance of:
  • Plastics and polymer materials
  • Paints and coatings
  • Rubber and synthetic rubber
  • Leather and synthetic leather
  • Textiles and fabrics
  • Paper and printed materials
  • Flooring and decorative materials
  • Laminates and other finished surfaces
For materials that require both surface durability and mechanical strength evaluation, abrasion testing can also be combined with universal tensile testing equipment to obtain a broader understanding of material performance.

Test Principle

A specimen is mounted on the rotating platform and subjected to controlled abrasion from two rotating wheels. The wheels apply a specified load while the specimen rotates at a selected speed.
The resulting wear can be evaluated according to the applicable test method, such as changes in appearance, mass, thickness, or other specified performance indicators.
The abrasion wheel, load, rotation speed, and number of revolutions should be selected according to the material and applicable test requirements.
